Former Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and current Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Dinesh Sharma has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, according to an official announcement from Rashtrapati Bhavan on Saturday. The 62-year-old leader will assume office from the date he formally takes charge, effectively transitioning from his parliamentary role ahead of his Rajya Sabha term's scheduled conclusion on November 25.
