Gujarat leads in NITI Ayog Investment Friendly Index

The NITI Ayog has in its Investment Friendly Index released recently placed Gujarat at the top with Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu following closely. The index released by the vice-chairman Ashok Kumar Lahiri categorises states in four groups--

Top performers-- Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha and Tamil Nadu.

Frontrunners: Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh

Emerging performers: Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Puducherry, Punjab, West Bengal

Aspiring states: Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Manipur, Mizoram and Sikkim.
