Will there be Century’s worst floods in September?

With heavy rains in most parts of the country most dams and reservoirs are full. The Ranjit Sagar dam on Ravi is close to overflowing while Narmada dams across MP and Gujarat are brimming. All dams on Krishna in Maharashtra and Karnataka are full.

Three dams on Cauvery river are overflowing while only Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) is short of its full-tank-level.

Pong Dam on the Beas River in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh is overflowing at 1390-1400 feet.

But Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) dam levels are kept low to accommodate any surplus rain or water.
